Works for the reclamation of the Sakumo and Klagon Ramsar sites are yet to commence, weeks after the demolition of structures within the waterways.
The demolition, launched by the Greater Accra Regional Minister, forms part of broader efforts to prevent flooding in the region.
Despite assurances from the local assembly to promptly restore the sites to their original state, clearance of demolition debris and other engineering works are yet to begin.
The Greater Accra Regional Security Council (REGSEC) initiated the demolition exercise on Tuesday, May 27, targeting unauthorised structures erected within flood-prone zones and ecologically sensitive Ramsar sites in Tema, Klagon, and Sakumo.
