Respected Ghanaian economist and statesman, Kwame Pianim, has stirred a fresh wave of political reflection following his bold and heartfelt message to President John Dramani Mahama during a courtesy call by the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT).
Speaking candidly, Pianim urged Mahama to rise above partisan pressures and seize what he called a "historic opportunity" to reset the nation's path.
According to Pianim, the presidency offers Mahama a unique position - not just of power, but of purpose. "Somebody told them he was going to give them 10,000 houses - they got zero," Pianim said bluntly, referring to a failed promise made to teachers.
In contrast, he praised Mahama's openness and capacity to listen, adding, "I told them this is a listening president." Pianim then placed an even heavier charge on Mahama's shoulders: "Of the 35, 36 million Ghanaians alive, you are the only one who can reset Ghana for us," he said.
