The Former North East Regional Minister, Solomon Namliit Boar, has refuted recent allegations concerning his alleged involvement in the Bunkpurugu chieftaincy conflict.
One Dantiar Francis Kenasua of the Jamong Royal Family made these allegations during a press conference held in Accra and made headlines on September 2, 2024.
In a statement, Boar who doubles as the parliamentary candidate for the Bunkpurugu constituency on the ticket of the New Patriotic (NPP) denounced the claims as completely baseless. "We have been made aware of a false claim circulating in Accra, social media, and the Internet regarding the Bunkpurugu Chieftaincy conflict.
We would like to categorically state that the information being shared is completely false. "It is probably a figment of people's imaginations and we urge every interested party to leave us alone as our interest is in the development of the youth, women and all constituents only.
We have never, we are not and we will never get involved in matters of land and Chieftaincy matters," parts of the statement said.
He emphasized that his focus, as well as that of the NPP, remains on the development of the Bunkpurugu Constituency, particularly in areas that directly benefit the youth, women, and other constituents.
He questioned the plausibility of such accusations against himself and the Vice President of Ghana, Dr.
Mahamudu Bawumia, who is also the NPP's flagbearer for the upcoming 2024 presidential election. "How can the Peaceful Vice President of Ghana/Flagbearer of the NPP for the upcoming presidential election in Ghana H.E Dr.
Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia and Hon.Solomon Namliit Boar former MP/Minister and now PC for the Bunkpurugu Constituency seeking the support of the people stoop that low? "The reason for having leaders is to lead by solving problems and not create or fuel existing conflicts.
The Chieftaincy Conflict as indicated to have started since 1931 is older than the two individuals.
We will continue to focus on our developmental agenda of the Constituency and therefore entreat everyone to promote the peace of the area at all times. "It is public knowledge that the popularity of the NPP, the Parliamentary Candidate and the Vice President who is the flag bearer is growing in leaps and bounds within the two gates and as such it has become the envy of some politicians who are burnt on causing division for their political and parochial interest," the statement added. "These two families should take note of such individuals and never welcome them into their fold as we inch closer to the election of 2024. "The fact that even in the Vice President's Constituency he tries not to meddle in internal politics of his own party to the extent that the rule of law is working to produce a parliamentary candidate should tell the world how he has decided to be neutral in matters of disagreements and will always want the rule of law to work."
