President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama has acknowledged that teachers are the bedrock of Ghana's education system and essential partners in nation-building.

Therefore, he believes that ensuring they are well-compensated, work in conducive environments, and have access to professional growth opportunities is not just a promise but a fundamental necessity for national progress.

The president made this known after he met with the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT).

He used the opportunity to assure GNAT leadership of his unwavering commitment and that of the government to prioritize improving the working and living conditions of all teachers.
