Former President of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA), Kwaku Asante Krobea, has strongly criticised the Health Ministry's plan to deploy retired nurses and midwives as a temporary measure amid the ongoing nationwide strike, calling the move unrealistic and detached from reality.
Speaking on Citi Eyewitness News on Wednesday, June 11, Mr.
Krobea questioned the viability of the proposal, suggesting that many retired health workers are themselves unfit for the demands of frontline care. "The minister must be serious to think of it, that the minister is bringing on board retired nurses and midwives to fill the gap.
