The Head of Public Affairs at the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), John Kapi, has revealed that three invigilators have been arrested for engaging in examination-related offences in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

Speaking on Channel One TV's News Feed on Wednesday, June 11, he noted that examination malpractice continues to be a major concern, with such incidents recurring during national assessments year after year.

According to Kapi, the invigilators were apprehended for allegedly taking snapshots of examination papers during the conduct of the exams, an act that breaches WAEC's strict guidelines on exam security. "We have had incidents where some invigilators were picked up at some of the centres for taking a snapshot of the question papers.

I think so far we have had about three of them, and they have been handed over to the police. "We are still monitoring all the centres just to ensure that everybody is complying with the rules.
