President John Dramani Mahama has announced that the much-anticipated 24-Hour Economy policy will officially take effect from July 1, 2025, marking a major milestone in the government's efforts to enhance productivity and boost exports across sectors.
Speaking at the Ghana Horticulture Expo on Wednesday, June 11, President Mahama described the policy as a "game-changing strategy" aimed at unlocking Ghana's full production potential. "We are also implementing a game-changing strategy, which is the 24-hour economy, to unlock Ghana's production potential across all sectors.
I am pleased to announce that from July 1, the 24-hour Economy policy will be ready to go into operation," the President stated.
He highlighted the critical role the policy will play in strengthening the horticulture industry by facilitating the smooth movement of perishable goods such as pineapples, vegetables, and herbs from farms to international markets.
