The Majority in Parliament is pushing back hard against claims by the Minority that they were sidelined during the approval process of the controversial GHS1 energy sector levy.
Responding to the Minority's accusations of secrecy and lack of consultation, the Chairman of the Energy Committee, Emmanuel Kwesi Bedzrah, said the opposition is peddling deliberate falsehoods to score political points. "All the members on the Minority side in the Finance Committee, and all the leaders of the Energy Committee, were present at the committee meeting when we discussed this amendment bill," Bedzrah stated firmly.
