The Ghana Police Service (GPS) has arrested the Form Three student of O'Reilly Senior High School (SHS), identified as Godwin, who allegedly stabbed his colleague, Edward Borketey Sackey to death.

The incident reportedly stemmed from an argument between the two students over whose father is wealthier.

Since the incident, the school has been enveloped in an uneasy calm, with reports of a potential reprisal attack by a gang associated with the deceased.

Tensions have been high, but the swift response of police officers has prevented any further violence.

The gang's attempt to storm the campus was thwarted, ensuring the safety of students and teachers, some of whom were reportedly harassed.

In response to the incident, the Regional Director of the Ghana Education Service (GES) and the Municipal Director of the Ledzokuku Assembly have convened an urgent meeting with the management of O'Reilly SHS to address the situation.

A concerned parent, Gabby Galley, who rushed to the school upon hearing the news, expressed fear for his child's safety following the stabbing and the subsequent attempts by some local individuals to incite violence.

The Greater Accra Regional Director of the GES, Stephen Abamfo, has reassured the public that a full-scale investigation has been launched to address the unfortunate incident and ensure justice is served.
