A 30-year-old unemployed woman, Mavis Nkrumah, has been arrested by the Tesano Divisional Police Command for allegedly attacking her taxi driver ex-boyfriend with a substance suspected to be acid.

According to graphic.com.gh, Nkrumah, who reportedly attempted to flee Ghana after the incident, had visited her ex-lover, Gideon Frimpong, to confirm their breakup when she allegedly poured the substance on him.

Superintendent of Police Julianna Obeng, Head of the Greater Accra Regional Police Command's Public Affairs Unit, disclosed this in a news brief. "The Greater Accra Regional Police Command has arrested Mavis Nkrumah, a 30-year-old woman, for allegedly pouring a liquid substance suspected to be acid on her ex-boyfriend at Ablekuma Fan Milk, a suburb of Accra," the report quoted her as saying.

Superintendent Obeng also stated that initial investigations indicate that on May 28, 2025, around 1:00 am, Mavis arrived unannounced at the victim's residence the very night of the attack.
