Renowned Ghanaian Media personality, Jon Germain has shared the story of how his career in broadcasting commenced during his tenure in the library department at Choice FM'S.
While speaking in an exclusive interview on 3FM's Lounge on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, Jon Germain revealed that his initial opportunity to host a radio show was granted by the esteemed presenter, Tommy Annan Forson, while he was employed at Choice FM.
He reflected on how Tommy extended his support and provided him with a chance at a time when others doubted his potential, given his role in the library at Choice FM.The media mogul emphasized that with Tommy Annan Forson's strong endorsement, he was able to host his inaugural show on the Drive Time segment at Choice FM, subsequently advancing to the position of mid-morning show host.
This experience played a pivotal role in the development of his career as a presenter, eventually leading him to join Metro TV. "Tommy Annan Forson single-handedly because I remember a lot of people [didn't like the idea].
How's the guy in the library going to host a show.
There are other presenters who have been doing this for a while and if you want to add a new show to the station's programmes, you can always give that to another pers on and then you want to pick the guy in the library to host a show, people didn't like that idea. "But Tommy said he is going to do it and he can do it and months after I was hosting the Drive Time show and I got to host the mid-morning show on Choice FM as well and few years later, I was at Metro TV," he said.
