President has appointed a former Member of Parliament for Buem Constituency, Daniel Kwesi Ashiamah, as the Acting Executive Director of the Complementary Education Agency (CEA).

Ashiamah's appointment comes at a pivotal moment as the newly established CEA takes over from the now-defunct Non-Formal Education Division (NFED) under the Ministry of Education.

The agency has been restructured to deliver a broader and more strategic mandate aimed at promoting inclusive, lifelong learning opportunities for all Ghanaians, particularly underserved and marginalised groups.

Established under the Complementary Education Agency Act, 2020 (Act 1055), the CEA replaces the NFED's traditional focus on adult literacy with a more comprehensive mission.
