Rotational nurses have stepped in to manage operations at the Outpatient Department of the Effia Nkwanta Hospital in the Western Region, following the nationwide nurses' strike.
The hospital authorities have said that the measure is aimed at maintaining healthcare delivery amidst the industrial action by the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association.
Speaking to Citi News, the Public Relations Officer of the hospital, Christian Baidoo noted that the ongoing industrial action has significantly impacted work at the facility. "We have mobilised those who are available, not all of them belong to the GRNMA, they belong to other unions.
So, we are falling on them to step in to deal with the situation when the nurses are on strike," he said.
