Member of Parliament for Abetifi, Bryan Acheampong, is urging members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to confront the party's defeat in the 2024 elections with honesty and a renewed commitment to unity.
In a video message to party supporters, Acheampong reflected on the current state of the party, saying the absence of unity was undermining progress and damaging internal cohesion. "We went into the 2024 elections and it didn't go well.
Everyone is talking now, but there's no unity, and that's not good for us," he said.
The former minister called for introspection and collaboration, noting that while individual members may have their own ideas, it is crucial to find common ground that resonates with both Ghanaians and the party base. "Everyone has their own ideas, Ghanaians have theirs, the NPP has its own, and I also have mine," Acheampong stated. "So, I've asked the committee to go and find alignment, especially on key areas like jobs, food security, youth development, safety and security, and infrastructure." Acheampong acknowledged that his contributions to the party have helped shape his vision, but emphasised that this vision must be grounded in the needs and hopes of the people. "All these efforts I've made in the party have shaped the vision I have.
