Thomas Andy Owusu, an aide to the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, has been convicted by the Accra High Court on his own plea in connection with a corruption case linked to illegal mining.
He was the second accused in the case of 'The Republic vs.
Charles Bissue and Another'.
Andy Owusu was charged with corruption of a public officer and accepting a bribe to influence a public officer, following a 2019 documentary by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
