The Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti Region, Paul Yandoh, has dismissed suggestions that some individuals who rallied for the release of the party's Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, were motivated more by personal ambition than genuine party solidarity.
His comments follow Chairman Wontumi's release by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) after meeting his bail conditions, which included a GHS50 million bond with two sureties.
Among those who showed support were notable NPP figures, including former Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong, former Vice President Dr.
Mahamudu Bawumia, and Abetifi MP Bryan Acheampong, all of whom have expressed interest in the party's flagbearer position.
