The Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) has received a substantial allocation of GHS2,710,227,947.00 covering the first four months of 2025 - a move government says secures the future of the Free Senior High School (Free SHS) programme.
The Minority Leader in Parliament, Dr.
Cassiel Ato Forson, shared the update, confirming that GETFund is now the main funding source for Free SHS, as outlined in the 2025 Budget. "The Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) has received a total of Two Billion, Seven and Ten Million, Two Hundred and Twenty-Seven Thousand, Nine Hundred and Forty-Seven Ghana Cedis (GHS2,710,227,947.00) for the months of January, February, March and April, 2025," Dr.
Ato Forson announced.
