The Majority Leader of Parliament, , has taken a swipe at the Minority Leader, Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, over what he says is his penchant for failing to keep his word.
During proceedings on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, the Minority Leader accused of deceiving the House by claiming that President John Dramani Mahama has fulfilled his promises to the Ghanaian people.
In response, the Majority Leader cited instances where the Minority Leader has failed to keep his promises.
According to the Majority Leader, Afenyo-Markin promised to ensure the return of the embattled former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, who has failed to honor a physical appearance at the Office of the Special Prosecutor. "You promised to present Ken Ofori-Atta in May, but we are now in June… When you make promises, you don't fulfill them," he stated.
