Police have arrested a taxi driver found transporting a large cache of suspected cannabis hidden inside fertiliser sacks.

The arrest took place on Monday, June 2, 2025, during a targeted intelligence-led operation by the National Highway Patrol Unit of the Ghana Police Service.

The suspect, identified as Ernest Mohammed Adjiri, was driving a Hyundai i10 taxi bearing registration number GW 9832-22 when officers halted the vehicle for inspection.

Upon searching the taxi, officers uncovered three fertiliser sacks containing 120 slabs of compressed dried leaves suspected to be cannabis.
