Member of Parliament for Abetifi, Bryan Acheampong, has confirmed his move to serve as a surety for the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi.
His confirmation follows the decision by Wontumi's legal team to withdraw an earlier motion that sought to challenge the GH¢50 million bail condition imposed on him.
The motion, originally filed at the High Court in Accra on May 30, 2025, was scheduled for hearing on Tuesday, June 3.
However, it was formally withdrawn a day before, on Monday, June 2.
