President John Dramani Mahama has announced that the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) will unveil a new cocoa producer price in August 2025, assuring farmers that the upcoming rate will be attractive and supportive of their livelihoods.

He made the announcement on Saturday, May 31, while addressing residents during his thank-you tour in the Ahafo Region, where cocoa farming remains a vital source of income for many communities.

According to President Mahama, the government is committed to reviving the cocoa sector, which has experienced a significant decline in both production levels and farmer confidence in recent years.

He revealed that the government is targeting an additional 200,000 hectares of cocoa cultivation to boost national output and raise incomes for farmers. "Plans are underway to revamp the collapsed cocoa sector.
