President John Dramani Mahama has announced that Ghana will soon begin exporting skilled labour to foreign countries as part of a newly introduced initiative aimed at reducing unemployment and enhancing international workforce mobility.
Addressing residents of the Ahafo Region during his Thank You tour on Saturday, May 31, President Mahama disclosed that the Ghana Labour Export Programme is set to be launched in the coming weeks, with an initial agreement already signed to send 2,000 temporary workers abroad.
According to him, the programme will provide opportunities for Ghanaians in various fields, including agriculture, construction, healthcare, hospitality, mechanics, and logistics.
Specifically, roles such as electricians, welders, drivers, chefs, machine operators, warehouse supervisors, and caterers will be targeted.
