President of IMANI Africa, Franklin Cudjoe, has called on the Minority in Parliament to respect due process in the ongoing detention of Bernard Antwi Boasiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Wontumi was picked up by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) on Tuesday, May 27, after reporting to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) the same day.
He was granted bail on Wednesday, May 28, with a GH¢50 million bond and two justified sureties.
His lawyers say those terms were fulfilled by Friday, May 30, but his release has been delayed due to a pending High Court application seeking to review the bail conditions.
