Parliament will hold an emergency session today, September 3, 2024, at 10:00 am, following a recall by Speaker Alban Bagbin.
This follows a request from Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin, who voiced concerns over the Speaker's decision to adjourn Parliament indefinitely on July 30, 2024.
Key issues on the agenda include the approval of a Financing Agreement between the Government of Ghana and the International Development Association.
Parliament will also discuss tax exemption requests for beneficiaries of the One District, One Factory Programme, review matters related to the Ghana Financial Stability Fund, and consider several pending bills.
Due to ongoing renovations in the main chamber of Parliament, the session will be held at the Dome of the International Conference Centre.
The repairs, which are necessary for the 9th Parliament, are not expected to be completed in time for today's sitting.
