Lawyers for Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi and Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), have filed an application at the High Court seeking a review of the GHC50 million bail conditions imposed on him by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).

The legal move follows unsuccessful efforts to meet the bail terms, leaving Wontumi in EOCO custody.

He is currently under investigation over alleged financial irregularities involving the Ghana Export-Import Bank (EXIM Bank).

On Friday, May 30, Wontumi was reportedly transferred from EOCO to the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) in Accra.
