Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Haruna Mohammed, has reiterated the party's commitment to exhaust all legal avenues to secure the release of Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi.

His remarks follow unsuccessful attempts by the party and former Vice President Dr.

Mahamudu Bawumia to meet and engage with Chairman Wontumi at the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) office in Accra following reports suggesting that he had been moved from the headquarters of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) to the NIB amid rising public and political interest in his ongoing legal woes.

Speaking in an exclusive interview on Channel One Newsroom on Friday, May 30, Haruna accused the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) of weaponising state security agencies to carry out political persecution.
