Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has been transferred to the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) after days in custody at the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).
The transfer comes amid growing public and political attention on Wontumi's case.
NPP flagbearer Dr.
Mahamudu Bawumia is said to be leading efforts to meet the bail conditions set by EOCO.
