President John Dramani Mahama has issued a strong warning to Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs), cautioning that failure to properly utilise government funds could result in their removal from office.
This comes amid mounting criticism from the Minority, who have accused the Finance Minister of deliberately withholding funds from key government institutions, despite legal obligations and the availability of resources nearly six months into the new administration.
Addressing supporters during his Thank-You tour of the Bono East Region on Friday, May 30, President Mahama announced that the government is set to release the first quarter of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF).
He emphasized that the disbursement will come with strict guidelines and performance indicators to ensure proper use of the funds. "The Minister of Finance is about to release the first quarter of the District Assemblies Common Fund.
