The National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) has issued a stern warning to Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) in the Greater Accra Region, threatening legal action against those that fail to remove unauthorised billboards from road medians by Monday, June 2, 2025.
The move follows a failed engagement between the Authority and the assemblies, as many of the targeted MMDAs did not attend a scheduled meeting meant to discuss a compliance roadmap.
Speaking to the media, NRSA Director-General Abraham Amaliba expressed disappointment over the low turnout, describing the conduct of the assemblies as a show of defiance. "We invited all of them through the Local Government Ministry.
Unfortunately, some misunderstood the invitation and thought it was a nationwide call, which led to the presence of assemblies from outside Accra," Mr.
