Business mogul Ibrahim Mahama has initiated legal proceedings against the Vice President of IMANI Africa, Bright Simons, alleging defamatory statements made in an article published on Simons' personal website, brightsimons.com, on April 19, 2025.
The lawsuit, filed at the High Court in Accra on May 28, cites multiple claims of false and malicious allegations regarding Mahama and his business interests.
Mahama's legal team asserts that the article, titled "Ghana Provides a Lesson in How Not to Nationalise a Gold Mine", contained damaging statements about E&P, his company.
The publication claims E&P has been severely affected by Gold Fields' temporary halt on active mining, allegedly leading to financial strain and distress among the company's creditors.
