The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Linda Ocloo, has urged chiefs who sold parts of the Sakumo Ramsar site to desperate developers to compensate the affected individuals with land at alternative locations.

Speaking after the second day of demolitions, the Minister expressed satisfaction with the progress made and empathised with the displaced property owners.

According to her, although the demolitions are painful, they are necessary for the "greater good of all." "I empathise with them, but they should be able to stay off the ramsar site so that we can all be free.

Let me also plead with their chiefs if there is a need for them to relocate the lands for the owners, they should do so, so that we will all have our peace," she said.
