Former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has expressed deep concern over the arrest and detention of the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr.
Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi.
In a statement shared on his official Facebook page on Tuesday May 28, Dr Bawumia questioned the lack of clarity surrounding the charges against Wontumi and emphasised the importance of upholding constitutional rights and due process.
Dr Bawumia highlighted Ghana's democratic principles, stressing that no citizen-regardless of political affiliation-should be denied their fundamental rights.
