The Majority in Parliament has urged suspended Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo to comply with the constitutional procedures governing her potential removal from office.
This follows a supplementary affidavit she filed at the Supreme Court, in which she alleged that the process infringes on her dignity and fundamental rights.
Justice Torkornoo described her treatment as inhumane and degrading, claiming that the process violates her constitutional protections.
Addressing the matter during a media briefing in Parliament, Majority Leader, Mahama Ayariga stated that Justice Torkornoo should have raised her concerns about the removal procedure for Chief Justices during her vetting.
