A Senior Fellow at the Institute of Economic Affairs, Dr Vladimir Antwi-Danso, has said that the alleged corrupt practices that took place at the Ghanaian embassy in Washington DC in the USA and its subsequent closure will have repercussions for the country.

Describing the incident as unfortunate, Dr Antwi-Danso shared the view that this would draw heightened scrutiny from the United States of America (USA).

According to him, the actions of the staff at the embassy have, to a large extent, tarnished the country's reputation and image, and it will, therefore, be very difficult for Ghana to redeem its good image. "It's very unfortunate that we had this situation.

When I read it, I didn't want to believe it because how can such a big scandal happen in a big place like Washington DC?
