Executive Director of the African Centre for Parliamentary Affairs (ACEPA), Dr.
Rasheed Draman, is calling for a significant restructuring of Parliament's Privileges Committee to include individuals who are not Members of Parliament (MPs).
Speaking on Citi Eyewitness News on Tuesday, May 27, Dr.
Draman raised concerns about the current composition of the committee, arguing that its effectiveness has been undermined by MPs' reluctance to hold their colleagues accountable. "There is a very strong case for perhaps looking at this Privileges Committee that we have that looks at issues of misconduct or alleged misconduct of members of Parliament," he said.
