The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) in the Bono Region has identified and flagged a total of 78 locations across the region's 12 municipal and district assemblies as high-risk flood-prone zones, as the rainy season gains momentum.

Communities flagged by the disaster management body include Wamanafo, Adiemra, Jamera, Drobo, Japekrom, Newtown, Abesim, Kato, Jinijini, Bongase, Boadan, Chiraa, Baakoniabo, among several others.

These areas experienced severe flooding that displaced a total of 976 people in 2023 and 2024.

According to the Bono Regional Director of NADMO, Fati Kine-Lam, the identification of these flood-prone areas, based on extensive risk assessments conducted in collaboration with the various local assemblies, forms part of NADMO's proactive efforts to minimize the devastating impact of flooding on lives and property in the region.
