The former Board Chairman of the Ghana Infrastructure Investment Fund (GIIF), , who is being prosecuted for causing financial loss to the state to the tune of $2 million in the Accra SkyTrain project, was granted bail on Monday, May 26, 2025.

Professor Ameyaw-Akumfi was able to meet his bail condition of providing two sureties for his GH¢10 million bail after New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful, , "stepped in".

According to GHOne TV, " steps in as surety for Professor Ameyaw-Akumfi." A video shared by the media outlet showed Ken Agyapong arriving at the premises of the High Court in Accra with a brown envelope.

After alighting from his vehicle, Ken Agyapong, who is a former Member of for the Assin Central Constituency, is seen briskly walking into the court.
