The Rotational Nurses and Midwives Association of Ghana has declared a nationwide strike effective June 2, 2025, citing the government's persistent failure to pay 12 months of outstanding allowances.
The group says it was compelled to take this action after a 14-working-day ultimatum issued to the government failed to yield any response.
The association describes the continued silence from the Ministry of Health as unacceptable and a sign of disregard for their essential role in the healthcare system.
Speaking to Citi News, the Association's President, Ebenezer Boateng, voiced the growing frustration among members. "The minister has not communicated officially to us, which is very sad.
