The Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) has issued a stern warning to transport stations and branches that fail to comply with the 15% fare reduction directive, stating that sanctions will be enforced against defaulters.

The fare reduction takes effect today, Saturday, May 24, 2025.

While some transport operators have adhered to the new pricing structure, others have resisted, citing operational costs.

General Secretary of GPRTU, Godfred Abulbire, in an interview on Channel One Newsroom acknowledged that some transport operators in the Ashanti Region had cited late communication as the reason for their delay in implementing the new fares.
