Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has broken his silence following a dramatic incident at his residence involving over 20 officials from the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB).
According to Wontumi, the agents arrived unannounced and proceeded to ransack his home under the guise of conducting a search-an operation he described as unjustified and without a warrant. "I called the number provided on the police invitation letter to ask if they were responsible for the NIB officials ransacking my house," Chairman Wontumi said. "The person I spoke to, Isaac Offei, claimed that the police knew nothing about it.
So, what at all is happening?
What wrong or crime have I committed?" Chairman Wontumi disclosed that he had earlier received a formal invitation from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), signed by DCOP Lydia Donkor, which he acknowledged and had planned to honour the following Monday.
