Private legal practitioner and spokesperson for the Movement for Change, Andrew Appiah Danquah, has criticised what he describes as a growing politicisation of the ongoing processes aimed at the removal of the Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo from office.

Speaking on the JoyNews AM Show on May 23, 2025, Danquah stated that the issue is not being allowed to take due course because of unnecessary political interference.

He said the CJ's case is sinking because of the numerous political inferences drawn into the matter, stressing that it is undermining the rule of law in the country. "The CJ's issue is not taking due course; it is sinking because of the political dimensions," he said.

Danquah urged political actors to refrain from interfering in judicial matters, noting that a continued politicisation could erode public confidence in the country's legal institution. "Politicians should not destroy the rule of law.
