The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Frimpong Kodua, has strongly condemned the early-morning arrest of Alfred Ababio Kumi, popularly known as Adenta Kumi, describing the incident as a "disgrace" to the rule of law and a "shame" to the nation.
According to Kodua, he received a distress call from Mr Kumi early Friday morning, reporting that approximately 20 armed men had surrounded his residence in Adenta, banging on his gate and demanding that he comes out.
Mr Kumi, speaking from inside the house, was reportedly unable to identify the men at the time. "On my way to his residence, I received another call-this time from his wife-saying he had been taken away and that they told her he was being sent to an office," Mr Kodua recounted.
The NPP General Secretary said that by the time he arrived at the house, Mr Kumi had already been removed from the premises.
