Former Attorney General, Godfred Yeboah Dame has strongly defended the integrity of suspended Chief Justice, Gertrude Torkornoo, describing her as a woman of unimpeachable character who is being unfairly targeted.
Speaking in an interview with Channel One News' Hanson Agyemang on Thursday, May 22, Mr Dame-who now serves as legal counsel for the embattled Chief Justice-rejected claims that suggest any wrongdoing on her part. "If there is anything that this Chief Justice has stood for, it is her integrity. "All those who have followed her will note that if there is anything that she is noted for, then it is her integrity.
And therefore it becomes very puzzling that they will want to bring her down," Dame said.
The suspended Chief Justice is currently at the centre of a constitutional process that could lead to her removal from office, following a prima facie determination by the President and the Council of State.
