The National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) has issued a strong ultimatum to the Ghana Education Service (GES), demanding immediate action to curb rising incidents of violence against teachers in schools.

In a statement issued after its just-ended National Council meeting held on May 15, 2025, in Accra, NAGRAT expressed grave concern over the increasing spate of attacks on teachers by students and the growing presence of weapons on school campuses.

The association warned that if these issues are not addressed by May 31, 2025, the union will initiate a series of actions to ensure teacher safety.
