Correspondence from Ashanti Region Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, has moved to calm growing tensions surrounding school feeding contracts, firmly denying any involvement by First Lady Lordina Mahama and warning against the unauthorised use of her name to influence contract decisions.
Dr Amoakohene addressed the issue following a meeting with constituency chairmen and women organizers, including the regional women organiser.
The meeting was in response to allegations that some "strangers" were claiming to have secured school feeding contracts in various districts, claims that sparked anger among some NDC women organisers and supporters who felt sidelined despite their dedication and work for the party.
Reports also indicated that certain individuals were falsely invoking the First Lady's name to back their claims.
