The Sunyani West Municipal Assembly in the Bono Region has received its share of the DRIP equipment under the District Road Improvement Programe (DRIP) initiative by the government.

The equipment received includes a tipper truck, a water tanker, two concrete mixers, a roller, a backhoe, and a motor grader.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Evans Kusi Boadum in a ceremony to outdoor the equipment to the residents commended the government for prioritizing the welfare of the citizens. "Prioritizing the welfare of the citizens, the government is committed to initiating programs and policies aimed at bringing relief to the people", he said.

Justina Owusu Banahene, the Bono Regional Minister noted that the project honours the president's pledge to ensure fair sharing of the national cake.

According to her, the project complements the government year of roads declaration in 2022 and 2023.

She encouraged stakeholders to ensure the equipment's lifespan through proper storage and regular maintenance to serve its purpose for the benefit of the residents.

On his part, the Member of Parliament for the Sunyani West constituency, disclosed that the DRIP project is designed to empower MMDAs with the necessary resources and equipment necessary to rehabilitate and maintain roads within their various jurisdictions and effect meaningful changes.

He said it would aid road networks in the respective communities and electoral areas to ensure that all roads are motorable and improve roads in the municipality.

He said it shows the government's commitment to improving the living conditions of the people and urged the residents to retain him and the in power come December 7, 2024, to continue its good works.
