Eco-Bliss Climate, a Ghanaian carbon asset project developer, has secured early-stage endorsements from the Governments of Ghana and Singapore for a major carbon credit initiative. The endorsement offers it the opportunity to reduce and remove 3.6 million tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO₂) equivalent by 2030 in Ghana's Upper West Region.A statement, issued and signed by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Eco-Bliss Climate, Mr Awuni Laud Anthony, and copied to The Ghanaian Times stated that, the initiative supported both Ghana's National Climate Change Policy and Singapore's International Carbon Credit framework."This project is expected to deliver climate, environmental, and economic benefits, especially to over 45,000 smallholder farmers who will receive training, sustainable tools, and access to carbon finance," he said.By restoring degraded land and adopting regenerative agriculture techniques, the project would sequester carbon and generate high-integrity carbon credits for international markets, including Singapore's."This is not only a recognition of Eco-Bliss's technical and environmental credibility, but also a call to action for partners who share our vision for a climate-resilient, low-carbon future," Mr Awuni stated. Moreover, the endorsement from Ghana's Environmental Protection Authority and Ministry of Environment, Science, Innovation and Technology, as well as Singapore's National Environment Agency, demonstrate early-stage governmental support and validate the project's potential for sustainable, climate-smart solutions."We are encouraged by the strong signals of support from both the Government of Ghana and the Republic of Singapore," Mr Awuni mentioned. The project is a large-scale Improved Agricultural Land Management (IALM) project, covering 91,000 hectares in Ghana's Upper West Region. It will implement climate-smart practices such as agroforestry, soil enrichment, and sustainable irrigation. The initiative directly supports Ghana's National Climate Change Policy under the country's Framework on International Carbon Markets and Non-Market approaches. The project is currently in its early stages, with the next step being the preparation of a Project Design Document under the Verified Carbon Standard.Eco-Bliss Climate, however, invites stakeholders and partners to join in advancing this landmark initiative for Ghana and the world.BY CLIFF EKUFUL
