Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has pushed back against claims that the government is expected to make a single, lump-sum payment to settle debts owed to Independent Power Producers (IPPs), stating that such expectations are economically unrealistic.

This follows comments by former Vice President Dr.

Mahamudu Bawumia, who indicated that the government was not paying the IPPs - a situation he said contributed to reduced pressure on the cedi.
