Teachers and non-teaching staff of GES have taken delivery of laptops under the One-Teacher-One-Laptop Programme.
The programme implemented by KA Technologies in partnership with the Ghana Education Service benefited teachers from kindergarten to senior high schools, teachers on study leave, as well as non-teaching staff under the Ghana Education Service. (GES) It involved the nationwide supply, training, and subsequent distribution of computer laptops to the beneficiaries.
In a press statement issued by KA Technologies on Sunday, September 1, 2024, it stated, "We have communicated and published our 24/7 Aftercare Centers dotted across the country, providing continuous customer and technical assistance to our cherished teachers. "Our user-friendly Katcare App allows the booking of repair services and the purchase of laptop accessories." The company also expressed their profound gratitude to the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT), the Coalition of Concerned Teachers (CCT), stakeholders, and other partners for their immense support. "We are particularly grateful to the government, the Ministry of Education, the Ghana Education Service, and the regulatory institutions. "As a local firm, we are indeed gratified to have contributed towards the delivery of digital-aided advancement in teaching in Ghana and remain committed to leapfrogging technology to transform all sectors of the Ghanaian economy," it indicated.
The programme, aims to bridge the ICT gap between teachers in urban areas and their colleagues in rural areas.
