The University of Ghana branch of the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG-UG) has threatened to petition the presidency for the removal of Auditor-General, Johnson Akuamoah Asiedu, citing a loss of confidence in his office over what they describe as procedural and ethical breaches in a controversial audit report.

Speaking on Citi FM's Eyewitness News on Tuesday, May 20, Dr.

Jerry Joe Harrison, Secretary of UTAG-UG maintained that the audit process lacked fairness and transparency, accusing the Auditor-General's office of failing to engage affected institutions before publicising the findings.

The association argues that this approach has damaged reputations and eroded trust in the office meant to uphold accountability. "I am not even sure the Auditor-General saw the report before it was made public.
